What does the BioCV system cost on the first time installation?
We aim to keep the cost model as simple as possible. For initial integration with existing infrastructure, we charge €25 per stall place for the BioCV system.

From what farm size or type of housing is the BioCV system worthwhile?
The BioCV system is designed to provide noticeable added value even for small farms. When calculated per animal, small farms are treated the same as large farms.

What specific benefits do I have with the BioCV system?
The BioCV system allows you to see what is happening in the barn at any time and from anywhere. The BioCV system works without significant user input, including heat, farrowing, and health detection. Additionally, our Android application enables real-time tracking of individual animals. This allows you to locate animals in group housing easily, without being in close proximity. This near-location is complemented by automatic room assignment of the animals through our data receivers in the barn, so you can always see how many and which animals are in which production status. Furthermore, the BioCV system can be used by employees in the barn, allowing live viewing of which animals have just been treated or if any abnormalities have been detected by staff.

What benefits does the BioCV system offer to the foreman and barn workers?
The BioCV system greatly simplifies the morning routine. In the morning, all occurrences from the night can be quickly reviewed, and urgent interventions can be placed directly at the top of the priority list, whether it's complications during birth or the death of a recently farrowed sow.

The lifespan of BioCV ear tags is 3 to 3.5 years.

What prerequisites must my farm meet to install the BioCV system?
The BioCV system requires a standard internet connection and a network as found in any private household. No IT expert or electrician is needed for the installation; only standard Ethernet cables need to be laid from a central internet access point to our data receivers. What if I don't have Wi-Fi in the barn?
No problem, all data receivers have integrated Wi-Fi functionality that can be used by any device.

On which devices is the BioCV system usable?
We provide a free web application and Android app that can be used on any device. An iOS app is also in development and is expected to be released by the end of 2024.

Are my data secure and anonymized?
Your data is stored in several separate databases according to GDPR standards. Additionally, our infrastructure is designed so that access to all separate databases is required to draw conclusions about a user, who is anonymized.

Does BioCV offer installation, or is self-installation possible?
Within Germany and depending on the farm size, we offer turnkey installations. Generally, no IT specialists or electricians are needed for compliant installation. All devices are delivered configured, with no additional setup required.

Can I use the BioCV system for pig fattening?
Yes, the BioCV system can also be used in pig fattening for health monitoring and disease outbreak detection.

What additional functions is BioCV currently working on?
BioCV is involved in numerous research and development projects aimed at, among other things, providing differentiated insights regarding locomotion or detecting udder inflammation.

What do I do with ear tags that have reached the end of their lifespan?
Upon returning ear tags, BioCV offers a discount on the purchase of new ones. The old ear tags are either disposed of in an environmentally friendly way or refurbished.
